The heavy duty cable kit will reduce the voltage drop in the circuit by using heavy gauge  cable and  heavy duty connectors to the benefit of such devices as the starter motor ensuring the full 12 volt supply.
The kit also grounds the rectifier/regulator correctly by grounding it to the frame ground not the battery or any other part on the bike. Why frame ground ? Well that’s the bikes electrical systems reference point for all devices and the proper ground.
