Bulldog Bash 2002

Thanks to Blues for the photos.

We arrived at Saturday lunchtime, due to some very inclement weather on the Friday
the main areas were awash with mud, so getting around was a bit messy, however the
facilities and organisation was very impressive, the Angels had yet again played a blinder.
I especially liked the fact that no police were allowed on the site without the express
permission of the Angels!

The drag strip was great fun and I watched as a couple of well tuned Max's blast down
the 1/4 mile to some impressive times, leaving Busa's and Blades in their wake.  The
rocket cars were incredible also.  There was a mini moto racetrack, a fun fair and a very
large area for stalls.  I picked up some new boots a great Vmax t-shirt and a V-max phone
cover (how sad).  There were a great variety of stalls selling everything biker and then some.

The show tent had some very shiny and impressive exhibits (see photo's) and it was nice to see
more than a couple of very tasty Max's. There was also an impressive metal sculpture outside
the tent, (see attached photo)

The food area was impressive with it's choice and reasonable pricing, there was food ranging
from baguettes to burgers, Chinese to Indian and Pizza to doughnuts!

There was an impressive beer tent, where amazingly you never had to wait long to be served,
the bands were of a high quality and with the Pretenders on the Friday night and Gary Moore
on the Saturday the choices were impressive, as I had my daughter and wife with me, seeing
the strippers was out of the question but I was informed by a friend who stayed on the Friday
night, that it put Amsterdam in the shade!

Even though the weather wasn't the best, it was a great day, being surrounded by bikes, beer and
drag racing, walls of death, good grub and the biking brethren.

It was nice to meet Vicky (Fen) and STMP in the beer tent and to see so many Max's on show, in
the car park and on the drag strip, it would be well worth organising something between the
VMAXCHAT brigade for next year.
