Rideout from The Clock 2nd December 2001

Well its a bright dry start to the day, bit cold & frosty,

Five maxes turned out, myself, dude, joker too, bluemax & Stu,

Dude & Stu's ladies were with them and they deserve a special mention because it was bitterly cold especially on the way to Bridgnorth.

Set off at 11.00am in bright sunshine, we were on a mixture of dual carriageways, main roads and side roads other than being a little
damp in places we didn't see any sign of Icy roads.

Bluemax set off at his usual cracking on pace, keeping to the national speed limits of course ( ), the journey took us past the Waterman
and through various towns and villages until we reached our destination Quatt which is about 5 miles from Bridgnorth, the Cafe is a well
known spot amongst the riders in the midlands area and has been their for as long as I can remember so at least 40 years, coffee and
bacon butties we ordered which warmed us all up after 80 miles of riding from our original meeting place at the Clock Inn.

The cafe itself is set on a hillside and it overlooks the part of the Severn Valley leading down to the river severn, their is a garage on site,
a little chef across the road and a pub all within walking distance, when we were leaving in the distance I spotted the tell tale smoke and
steam from the Severn Valley Steam Railway which finishes its journey at Bridgnorth and might be worth a visit during the summer on
another run out.

On the return journey we took a different route back traveling through Bromsgrove Redditch and Henley in Arden ending up at the Old Royal Oak
at Hockley Heath (which had been recommended), there were a few classic bikes and a couple of Triumphs, along with some classic cars, of
course as soon as the maxes turned up they were the centre of attention, another cup of coffee and we said our farewells.

The round trip mileage from the Clock back to my house was 132 miles.

Thanks to all who made the effort on a cold winters morning.

Right! when's the next one.....................

Unfortunately Bluemax had a incident with a car after he left us, resulting in a broken rib, hope you are feeling better soon Geoff.

BlueMax before the Max/Car interface...
