IT WORKED PRETTY WELL BUT SILL GAVE US A
FEW PROBLEMS WITH THE CLUTCH. IVE
BEEN SPONSORED THROUGHOUT MY 20 YEAR DRAG
RACING CAREER BY TORCO, BEL RAY, REDLINE AND
KENDALL AND HAVE ALSO RUN MOBILE 1.
BY BIKES HAVE RANGED FROM 11 SECOND STREET BIKES TO MY
CURRENT 7 SECOND PRO
MODIFIED SUZUKI. IVE HAD THE BEST LUCK WITH KENDALL AND TORCO.

OCCASIONS THAT THE TRANSMISSION GEAR ENGAGEMENT DOGS LAST MUCH LONGER
WITH A 20W-50 WEIGHT
OIL. AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE, YOUR TRANS TAKES A PRETTY GOOD
BEATING WHEN SHIFTING FROM GEAR
TO GEAR; AND THIS IS WHERE I FOUND THAT THE HIGHER
VISCOSITY OIL REALLY HELPS TO EXTEND
THE TRANSMISSION LIFE. IT POSITIVELY ADDS MORE OF
CUSHION EFFECT UNDER HEAVY SHOCK LOADS
WHICH PROTECTS THE GEAR DOGS FROM DAMAGE
WHEN EACH GEAR IS ENGAGED. A LITTLE POWER LOSS IS
WELL WORTH IT COMPARED TO THE COST
OF YOUR TRANSMISSION. HERE IS ANOTHER HINT IF YOUR
RUNNING YOUR V-MAX AT THE DRAG
STRIP: BE SURE TO LET IT COOL DOWN A LITTLE BETWEEN EACH
PASS AND DON NOT LET IT RUN IN
THE PIT LANE WAITING TO MAKE YOUR RUN. WARM IT UP JUST
ENOUGH SO IT WILL RUN WITHOUT
THE CHOKE. PUSH IT UP TO THE BLEACH BOX AND FIRE
IT UP TO DO YOUR BURNOUT. THEN GET TO
THE LINE. IT WILL THEN BE AT NORMAL ENGINE
TEMP WHEN YOU LAUNCH. IF YOU LET THE ENGINE
RUN TOO LONG BEFORE A RUN, THEN BY THE TIME
YOU GET TO THE STARTING LINE, YOU WILL OVER
TEMP THE MOTOR OIL AND TAKE OUT THE CLUTCH IN
JUST A FEW PASSES. YOUR LAUNCHING
TECHNIQUE IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT ON THE V-MAX IF YOU
WANT YOUR CLUTCH TO LAST.

OIL BUT I GAVE IT A FULL SEASON TEST IN MY HORSEPOWER 7 SECOND PRO-MOD SUZUKI WITH UNREAL
RESULTS. X-1R WHEN RUN WITH KENDALL MOTORCYCLE OIL, ELIMINATED ALL PISTON SKIRT WEAR AND
NY WRIST PINS NOW HAVE OVER 200 PASSES ON THEM AND STILL PUSH OUT WITH NY LITTLE FINGER
AND LOOK GOOD. WHEN I WAS RUNNING MOBILE 1 THE PINS WOULD HAVE TO BE CLEANED UP OR
REPLACED
EVERY 30 PASSES. REMEMBER THIS IS AN EXTREMELY HIGH LOAD IN THIS TYPE OF
ENVIRONMENT.
